My skates with blades sit lonely,
my suit is wet and the water lovely.
Lake, I enjoy your warmth in summer
but when winter comes,
I hope you are frozen.
My juice is poured into popsicle trays,
I want relief from the hot summer days.
Juice, I enjoy a nice cool drink,
but in the summer heat,
I hope you are frozen.
There is beauty in sunshine, beauty in rain
beauty in liquid and solid state.
Seasons, I enjoy your changing,
to stay the same would be prosaic
I hope you are never frozen.
A girl I was talking to lives in Canada and is down here in the south helping out a family in our church for a few months. She misses the snow and she said she keeps looking at the lakes and saying "I hope you are frozen!"
